Tanya Burr - What I Eat in a Day. My Response
This post will be focused on my response to her 3rd What I Eat in a Day video.
Breakfast:
Tanya started off with 2 hard boiled eggs and I couldn't possibly think of a more unhealthy way to start the day.Consuming an egg a day may shorten your life.
According to The Harvard Physicians Health Study, which followed 20,000 doctors over twenty years found that the doctors consuming at least one egg a day had a significantly higher all-cause mortality risk, which suggests that consuming just one egg a day is significantly associated with a shorter life span.
Eggs increase the risk of heart disease and diabetes, according to a new meta-analysis published in Atherosclerosis. Researchers reviewed 14 studies and found that the people who consumed the most eggs had a 19 and 68 percent increased risk for developing cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
People say that eggs are a good source of iron, however a 50g egg only contains 0.6mg of iron, which is considerably low compared to the plant based alternatives such as beans (4.1mg), lentils (1.7mg), seeds (1.9mg) and greens (1.8mg).
It is actually illegal for the industry to advertise eggs as healthy.
Luckily, there are many healthy egg alternatives to try.
However, the fruit plate was impressive but still not the best. In the mornings it is important to carb up to ensure you won't get hungry before lunchtime. Your brain needs carbs to function properly, this is because your brain runs on glucose, and you get glucose from carbs. If you are on a low carb diet, your ability to think, learn, and remember stuff will decrease because the neurotransmitters in your brain will not have enough glucose to synthesise properly.
Lunch:
For Lunch, Tanya went for seared tuna. I understand why she decided to choose fish as it is often mistaken for a health food but there are so many reasons why it's not.
Fish flesh is badly contaminated with toxic chemicals that are known to cause cancer and brain degeneration and is also the most likely of all foods to make you sick, this is because of bacterial contamination.
Researchers at the University of Illinois found that fish eaters with high levels of PCBs in their blood have difficulty recalling information they had learned just 30 minutes earlier.
Seafood is the number one cause of food poisoning, it can result in extreme discomfort, kidney damage, nervous system damage, and even death. According to the General Accounting Office, the seafood industry is dangerously under-regulated. It has also been reported that the Food and Drug Administration doesn't even bother to test most fish flesh for many well-known chemical and bacterial health hazards.
However, I am proud of Tanya's choice in salad.
